People often wonder how it is that I manage composers. Well, over time I found that people who understood my instincts for both art and commerce were asking me to help composers get work.

Initially, I had a partner in the composer management game, though it went south after a couple of years. I decided to continue on my own with this adjunct to my business at least partially because these people had become my friends and I cared for them and their future more than ever.

As time has gone on I’ve become more comfortable with the energy requirements of management to add to the roster a little, and I’ve used the same criteria as always in choosing who to associate myself with; these are the people I would work with if I were a filmmaker.

The composers that I manage are simply the best at their craft that I can find. These are the people that I trust to deliver consistently excellent and appropriate music, both on time and on budget, in a creative manner, all done with integrity. These people possess personalities that I am comfortable sharing my dreams with. All of this is to say that I am happy to stake my personal and professional reputation on these talented people, and I do not do this lightly.
