We've each picked two of our favourite recent trax to share with you. Click the play button on the media player below (yeah, it’s a triangle) to start the tunes.

HAJan12 Andrea

"Some Place" — Nick Waterhouse: California-based musician and record producer influenced by 50s/60s R&B soul. This guy is the real deal!

"The Noise" — Adaline: She's been an Arpix fave for years and really stepped up her game on this new record. Sophisticated electro-pop for the modern romantic. For fans of Florence/Bat For Lashes/Oh Land/Goldfrapp etc.

HAJan12 Kyle
”Bangarang” — Skrillex feat. Sirah: I witnessed Skrillex tear Kool Haus apart when he played Toronto. Arguably one of the biggest DJs in the world and an instant party starter.

"Thinking About You" — Frank Ocean: In anticipation of Josh saying something from The Weeknd, I'll throw up some Frank Ocean because they go so well together.

HAJan12 Josh
"D.D." — The Weeknd: At age 21, he's already making some of the best music out there, and lots of it: three full-length releases in the past year, all brilliant gothic R&B. Excited to see where he goes from here.

"15 Ativan" — Foxes in Fiction: What a hypnotic, thought - provoking song. Foxes in Fiction is a great chillwave artist from Toronto who should be getting a lot more attention starting in 2012.

HAJan12 Ron
”Tough Cookie" — Samantha Savage Smith: Indie chick from Calgary. Just stumbled onto her and fell for her classic sounding voice.

"Pair of Doves" — Trent Reznor [OST Girl with the Dragon Tattoo]: Such a simple but soulful sound from a guy who proves you can move from cassette (Downward Spiral was my all-time fave tape) to motion pictures.
