ok, this is a little off topic, but the world should make Hirsi Ali - she's the one who is a black female islamic member of parliament in Holland - the head of the United Nations ASAP. Wow...what a smart human. Saw her on Bill Maher's panel show and she is deep. Her "Infidel" is on the New York Times bestseller list of course.

Last Saturday nite I got blindingly drunk, perhaps partially because the boyfriend of a now-ex potential business partner went ballistic on me over the phone and reamed me pretty badly a couple of days earlier...uh...but i digress. Anyway, there I was in that way too late and way too drunk moment and my girlfriend tells me (cuz i uh couldn't remember this the next day) that I met someone who works at FlyteTime as a producer. Evidently I gushed that I thought the Janet Jackson records of the 80's and 90's where the top of their ilk. My girlfriend is like...what are you talking about? Here's the thing. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (aka Flyte Time) defined what it is for a generation of kids who then got turned on to hip hop. The thing is, I hear Jam and Lewis in all that hip hop shit...those kids just don't admit it. This morning i powerwalked to the end of Venice Pier with Rhythm Nation on the pod. Some brilliant moments on that album, certainly good for pumpin' da iron mon. note to self...2 glasses of wine is the new limit.
